Introduction

Juan Oliver Venegas worked with DP Architects from 1999 to June 2020 and started to work on residential and commercial projects. With more than 20 years of experience in the architecture and construction industry. Additional work in Hotel, Entertainment, and Theme Parks has further broadened wealth projects involvement. The strong point is on the realization of a design into working drawings and is responsible for its technical and construction implementation on site. This includes the Integration of Architectural design with Structure drawings, M&E layouts, and other specialist consultant requirements. He usually spearheads a team that undertakes review and approval of shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and other Contractor submissions with the additional task to review timeline and contractor adherence to the Master Program, and quality checks of site work to assuring conformance with design requirements and project specifications and further down to follow up on defects rectification and closing out of Contracts Works.

Experience

  • PARK SUITES CONDOMINIUM: Located in Singapore. He was involved in design review adherence with a client design brief, checking drawing alignment with approved authority submission drawings and tallying with consultants’ drawings and specifications; responsible for review and return of contractors’ submittals, shop drawings, and request for material approval; coordination with Main Contractor for project-wide technical and site works progress issues; team leads on updating and issuance of revised working drawings and NSC documents; assistant to Project Architect for site and contractor administration works and attend site progress meetings, technical meetings, and client con meeting.
  • DEIRA WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT: Located in the United Arab Emirates. He was the Singaporean team lead involved in design review and responses to contractor’s submittals for compliance to design intent, project requirements, and specifications; he was able to team lead for preparation, scheduling, review, and issuance of tender documentation drawings including coordination with Client, External Consultants, Singapore based Consultants and other specialist firms; responsible for responses to Tenderers RFI and updates to drawings. Responsible for technical evaluation of Tenderers’ submittals and proposals; and lead a team for preparation, scheduling, review, and issuance of DD drawings. Coordination with clients and consultants including attendance of extensive workshops in Dubai.
  • PINES HOTEL: Located in Singapore. He was able to review and audit technical submissions.
  • YOTEL HOTEL: Located in Singapore. He was able to review and audit Contractors’ submittals, particularly façade matters.
  • RESORTS WORLD SINGAPORE A&A (MINOR WORKS): Located in Singapore. He was stationed on-site and become the project lead from schematic design to design implementation on-site.
  • RESORTS WORLD SINGAPORE (PHASE 1): Located in Singapore. He was able to coordinate with consultants and client representatives, lead a review of contractors’ submittals, attend site technical meetings and resolve site issues and site inspection of completed works.
  • RESORTS WORLD SINGAPORE (PAHSE 2): Located in Singapore., West Zone with 60,000 sqm. GFA compromising of 2 basements, 183-room Hotel, Beach Villas, Sea Aquarium, and Theme Parks with a project cost of US$600M. He was stationed on-site; involved from the design phase to the construction completion phase; deployed on-site form year 2010 to 2013 as Team Lead for external common area, basement, and beach villa works. In charge of the team responsible for quality review and Contractors ‘of Contractors submissions and regular site inspection for conformance of constructed site works; site coordination with Contractors, Consultant, engagement with users and tenants and site review design with Clients and clients’ representatives; part of entire West Zone team for maintenance and defects liability period and closing out of contracted works.
  • CAPELLA HOTEL: A 6-star rated 112 rooms Resort Hotel with a project cost of US$165M located in Singapore. He was stationed on-site from 2007 to 2009 as Lead for review and approval of Contractors’ submissions, coordination with contractors, consultants, and clients, and for quality checking and regular inspection of site works.
  • VIVOCITY MALL: Singapore’s Largest Retail Mall with a project cost of US$280M. He was assigned on-site from 2003 to 2006 and was responsible for the review of contractors’ submissions, site coordination with consultants and clients, and regular inspection of site work for design and technical conformance with extra focus on façade and roofing works.
  • TERLING LUXURY CONDOMINIUM: Located in Singapore. He was involved in the construction stage as Site Coordinator and site works review and audit from 1999 to 2001.
  • DEIRA LANCO HILLS DEVELOPMENT: Located in India.
  • LE CHALET CONDOMINIUM PROJECT: Located in Vietnam.
